There is an interesting report on Planet PDF from Karl De Abrew about the PDF Forum
---------------
After the session, I had a quick chat with Ghent PDF Workgroup Chair David Zwang to ask him his thoughts. He felt that there had been a "genuine need" for the PDF-FORUM, and that there were some exciting things on the horizon, with expected updates to the PDF/X standards and Quark Xpress 7.0, with its "new approach to PDF and preflight."
---------------
So my take on this is that there was not much new from Adobe in this area. We are now getting closer to IPEX and announcements have started. there may be something new from Adobe but there will probably be enough from other suppliers to describe a PDF / JDF workflow.
The people around Ghent seem to be on this case long term and full time. I'm still wondering if the "classic publishing" unit in India will only appear on special occasions.
Starting with IPEX 2002, this blog covers events relevant for UK print, including Seybold and DRUPA. See also website at www.atford.co.uk
